Upon entering the welcoming portico, the foyer, with its Italian porcelain tile yields to an open floor plan of white ash hardwood floors and the sky-reaching vaulted great room. This is centered on a double open massive fireplace built of Kentucky dolomite limestone. The focal point of family and group activity is accented by an exterior panorama directly into the western lake sunset through floor to ceiling windows as well as the interior post and beam architecture and decors.

The full-service gourmet kitchen provides well adequate floor space of Italian porcelain tile will allow several cooks to enjoy preparing the ‘catch of the day.’ The kitchen is fully stocked with dishware, glassware, pots, pans, silverware, and serve ware that lets you to cook and serve meals as elaborately or simply as you wish. A six-burner 1 ½ oven Wolf Range, large three-door refrigerator/freezer, microwave, warming drawer, dishwasher, and double sink are incorporated within handcrafted solid maple cabinets and Juparano gold granite countertops. Immediately outside the exterior kitchen door is a propane fed gas grill with a direct connection to the home gas supply to complement the interior kitchen. Never fear as you plan your trip to Eagles Haven, there is a 2nd full-size refrigerator with freezer in the garage area that will provide more storage space by lessening the need to restock during your visit.

The dining area is integrated with the great room. Appointed with Versailles in-laid hardwood dining table and buffet with seating for 10 plus is intimately contiguous with the adjacent kitchen bar area and bistro breakfast table. The adjacent great room and its buffalo-hide leather furnishings will provide a perfect spot to relax after enjoying your meal. During cooler weather the double-sided fireplace offers an ambience that is truly uniquely Eagles Haven.

The large family room complimented by the opposite view of the double fireplace provides a space for relaxation, an opportunity to visit, or listen to music from the Bose sound system. A matching buffalo hide couch and soft leather chair allows each guest to be comfortable while making memories, or just looking out of the large windows at the stunning lake views.

Eagles Haven laundry room is available to guests to help minimize your packing needs. Laundry detergent and dryer sheets are provided amenities.

Walk to the lower level to visit the open media room that features a 65” HDTV. When the weather is a bit cooler, enjoy the warmth of the gas fireplace or warm up with a game of pool on the UK blue pool table. During warm days, feel free to open the French doors and spend some time outside while enjoying yet another lovely lake view, or take a walk in the small, intimate garden area. If you are musically inclined, take a minute to play the early 1900’s pump organ located in the KY Wildcat bedroom.

This bedroom enjoys a queen-size bed and a full bath/shower that is shared with those “visiting” the Media Room. Enjoy the early 1900’s pump organ if you are feeling musically inclined.

The upper level is accessed by the stairway that begins at the lower level and arrives at a gallery that overlooks the central great room and dining area through hand-crafted wrought iron balusters. You can visit the Spa Room/Master Suite via a small hallway that passes behind the large stone fireplace. Beautifully appointed in sky blue colors, views to the south and west extend for miles. If you gaze out at the right time, eagles can be seen soaring over the tree line. A skylight allows a view of southwest constellations at night. The master bath includes a two-person Jacuzzi, a tiled shower, and built-in handcrafted cabinetry. The queen bed has a Tempurpedic mattress to assure a restful night.

Also located on the 3rd floor is “Tom’s Room” named in honor of a dear friend treasured by our family and who spent many family visits in this queen bedroom. Enjoy the view from this room and spy on the rather large family of ground hogs who boast our hillside as their home.

The large full bathroom that provides space for several guests to share includes a full-size tub/shower. There is a well-stocked linen closet next door to the shared bath to provide you with as many towels as you will need during your Eagles Haven visit.

Located between the Aerie and the Shared Bathroom is the Room with a View. This queen bedroom will provide the same view as the master suite, with just a bit of a different perspective.

Take three steps up from either the balcony hallway or the master suite and enter the large interior observation area or the “AERIE.” This intimate area also includes Lisa’s Library, she and Jim’s favorite spot at Eagles Haven. Sit and enjoy a cup of tea, read any of Lisa’s favorite books or quietly experience the breathtaking westerly panoramas of Dale Hollow lake and the lovely KY/TN countryside. The northern view is Kentucky Proud, and the southern view is Tennessee Rocky Top. Take a moment to look down at those who fish in our cove every month of the year as the eagles soar to mark their territory.

If you take a few steps up from the Aerie, you will find yourself, finally on the top floor of Eagles Haven. The bridge that traverses the entire width of the loft area connects two bedrooms on the north and south wings. The Nautical queen bedroom brags two skylights and a large living area to enjoy. The view from the large window will orient you to the beautiful Kentucky hillside that rolls into the water of Dale Hollow.

The south loft “Sportsman’s Bedroom” allows for a lovely view of the northern Tennessee landscape and lake. If you are patient, gaze into the forest and you may spot several species of birdlife, a deer, raccoon, or squirrels.
